Job Description

This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, bargaining unit position that reports to the Dean of Arts and Sciences and is located on the JWCC campus in Quincy, Illinois.  Position begins Fall semester 2024.

 

This position includes teaching 15 credit hours per semester, which may include day or evening classes. Classes may be taught at any JWCC location in a structured setting, online, hybrid, or in an Open Learning Center. Classes taught will fall under one or more of the following general areas: Communication, Composition, Literature, Business Writing, or other courses based on credentials.

 

Requires a willingness to be involved in activities including professional development, committee membership, curriculum review, academic assessment, and participation in systematic planning for program evaluation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Communications or a closely related field with 18 graduate hours in communications required.  Preference is given to those with an additional 18 graduate hours in English or a Master’s degree in English with 18 graduate hours in Communications. Community college teaching experience as well as experience in teaching through multiple delivery methods preferred.

 

SALARY

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
