Job Description

Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

• 21 years of age and under 35 years of age by date of written examination, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act.

• Authorized to work in the United States under federal law or qualified under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) for deferred immigration action.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university. 60 semester hours can be waived with 24 months of honorable active duty service in any branch of the US Armed Services.
• POWER test card dated one year from application deadline – March 14, 2023 – March 14, 2024.
• Correctable vision to 20/20 and free from color blindness.
• Ability to pass all selection and training requirements.
