Job Description

Police Officer Minimum Requirements:

  • 21 years of age at the time of written examination. Applicants must be under 35 years of age when placed on the eligibility list as posted, unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act.
  • Authorized to work in the United States under federal law or qualified under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) for deferred immigration action.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Associate’s degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited college/university
  • POWER test card must be dated no earlier than 4/25/2023 (turned into IOS with application or Morton Grove PD by time of conditional offer)
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 and free from color blindness.
  • Ability to pass all selection and training requirements; agree to two-year reimbursement of expense
